The Saints were twice pegged back by Frome when having to settle for a 2-2 draw in a Southern League Premier Division clash at the Premier Plus Stadium.

Wideman Remy Gordon continued his impressive return to action with both St Neots goals after missing much of the season with a broken leg.

Gordon’s opener arrived after five minutes and was cancelled out just before the mid-point of the opening period.

He restored the lead in the 64th minute as Saints powered forward to great effect after soaking up plenty of pressure, but it again proved to be short-lived as Frome levelled three minutes later.

Saints dropped a place in the standings to 19th, but edged nine points clear of the drop-zone with five games to go.

The first of those is tomorrow when they visit King’s Lynn.
