HAVING made it through to the last 32 of the FA Vase with victory at Romford before Christmas, St Ives Town carried their good form into the festive period.

The 4-2 win in Essex set up a home tie with Bitton AFC on January 19 and left Town players and officials dreaming of a trip to Wembley.

On Boxing Day, St Ives played out a tough 1-1 draw at rivals St Neots Town, with Simon Claridge opening the scoring for the visitors.

However, St Neots equalised 20 minutes from time when Kevin Byrne fired home from the edge of the box.

St Ives completed their impressive Christmas on Saturday when they cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win at Wootton Blue Cross.

Scott Fielding, hat-trick hero of the Romford tie, was again on target in the 50th minute to put his side in front.

Barry Albone doubled the visitors' advantage on 67 minutes before Fielding and Lloyd Howard made the game safe.

# Next up for St Ives Town is a trip to Long Buckby on Saturday.
