The Huntingdonshire FA Under 18 representative team saw their dreams of Midlands Counties Youth Championship glory dashed at the semi-final stage on Sunday.

The cream of the local crop were beaten 5-2 by Leicestershire & Rutland in a last-four clash played at the Cozy Stadium in St Neots.

Chris Lewis of St Neots Town and Conor Inskip of Eynesbury Rovers hit the goals for a Hunts side who had won all three of their group games to reach the latter stages.

Hunts FA chiefs have passed on their thanks to manager Martin Hipwell, his assistant Steve George, goalkeeping coach Gareth Packer, and physios Laura Fisher and Marina Howlett for their involvement during the campaign.
