HUNTINGDONSHIRE Fencing Club had two teams in the semi-finals of the County Captains' Four Weapon Invitation Team on Sunday 22.

The event saw teams from Chelmsford, Southend, Northampton, Bedford and Cambridgeshire enter a male and female foilist, an epeeist and a sabreur. The Huntingdonshire club hosted the event and entered three teams, with Chris Covine and Tracey Coates in the A team for the foil event and Matt Dalton and Dan Tozer for the epee and sabre respectively. The other teams comprised of Joshua Coates, Barbara Scanlon-Carling, Tim Bissell and Ian Coates in the B team and Jason Presland, Lizzie Tozer, Ivan Ward and Richard Philp in the C team doing the same categories in the same order.

Hunts A was ranked fourth and the C team sixth as they progressed through the knock out stages, whilst Hunts B was one of three teams to progress past the seeding rounds undefeated. Hunts C exited in the first knock out round to Cambs B, and progressed through the losers' side to finish ninth.

Hunts A and B teams both reached the semi-finals, with wins over Chelmsford A and Cambs B respectively. Hunts A bowed out to Northampton A 40-31, whilst Hunts B lost out to tournament winners Cambs A 40-30. Hunts A beat the B team in the semi-finals to finish third and take the bronze medals.
