Huntingdonshire were on the receiving end of an eight-wicket loss at the hands of the Army last week.
St Ives duo Benji Thomas and Tom McCarthy offered plenty of resistance, but couldn’t spare the locals from defeat in the friendly fixture in Aldershot on Thursday. Thomas clubbed 87 off just 79 balls – an innings which featured seven fours and four sixes – while clubmate McCarthy contributed 65 in equally big-hitting style with 10 boundaries and a six.
Their efforts helped Hunts to a tally of 237, but it was surpassed by the Army with almost 10 overs to spare.
