THE Huntingdonshire teenagers suffered a sever mauling at the hands of the Middlesex visitors in a game which saw the Middlesex keeper hardly have a save to make.

The only Hunts player on form was skipper Nathan Field whose tireless work in midfield was too often wasted by colleagues, some of whom did not look up to their tasks.

But for the woodwork on at least three occasions, the score would have been even worse.

Jake Lovell opened the scoring after just three minutes from the spot after mistimed tackle by Kieran Dodd.

On 15 minutes the score was doubled when Aryan Tajbakhsh threaded a great pass to find the unmarked Daniel Wishart who made no mistake from close range.

Hunts' first effort on goal came after 28 minutes when full back Jason Attoe exchanged passes on the right to force visiting keeper Rob Pearce into a save, but play moved swiftly to the other end where Adam Michelin dived bravely at the feet of Lovell to prevent a further goal. Lovell was not to be denied because three minutes later, Dodd completely missed his tackle and with Lovell left in the clear he rounded the advancing goalkeeper to claim the visitors' third goal.

Hunts must have wondered what had hit them at the start of the second half as the visitors notched two inside eight minutes. After less than 60 seconds Daniel Wishart produced a devastating burst of pace to leave the defence in his wake and the same player completed a fine hat-trick seven minutes later after Ross Munro had given the ball away.

Hunts Manager Adi Corney shuffled his side and managed to achieve a degree of defensive stability but the last half hour was a question of damage limitation.
