HUNTINGDON Town's revival was short lived as they lost to Buckingham Town at Jubilee Park on Saturday to crash back into the relegation zone.

Lee Booker gave the hosts the lead after 29 minutes, but Buckingham quickly responded to draw level one minute later through Tyrone Taylor. Mark Redsull converted from the spot to avenge the visitors' home defeat in October's reverse fixture.

Huntingdon Town manager Martyn Ray said: "They are a good team but we deserved something out of the game. They had a dodgy penalty and the referee said he thought he saw someone go down but if he wasn't sure then it should not have been given.

"We had a couple of good chances with Lee Bassett missing a one on one but we didn't play that well. We're making chances but not putting them in and if we don't do that then we won't win.

"We weren't complacent but I don't think we put in a good enough performance, though we didn't deserve to lose. Not everyone performed to their best but we are still a decent outfit and we will turn it round."

Huntingdon Town now sit second from bottom in the UCL Division One, one point behind Burton Park Wanderers having won just one of their last nine matches. They next play Eynesbury Rovers at Jubilee Park tomorrow (Tuesday) and then Wootton Blue Cross away on Saturday.
