Huntingdon Under 13s missed out in their bid for regional honours on Sunday.

The Stags youngsters went down 32-7 to Bedford Blues in the final of the East Midlands Plate on home turf at the Racecourse.

A couple of unconverted tries helped the visitors move into a 10-point cushion by the interval and a third try against the run of play early in the second half increased their advantage further.

Huntingdon rallied and were rewarded with their solitary converted try as skipper Louis Rendall charged over.

But there was to be no comeback for the local lads as Bedford claimed three more scores during a powerful finishing burst to give the final scoreline a somewhat flattering look.
