Guy Jolly’s bid for World Championship success was ended only seconds after it began last Saturday night.
The Huntingdon racer was caught up in a major pile-up on the opening lap of the final at the Loomer Road track in Stoke.
Only nine of the 32 entrants managed to finish the race with rear wheel damage ending Jolly’s involvement.
Jolly did manage a fourth place finish in one of his heat races on the same night and set the second quickest lap time out of more than 45 drivers in the field.
