Huntingdon bowlers make it three Benevolent Triples Trophies in a row

THE Huntingdon Bowls Club trio of June Blackall, Jean Whittamore and Sylvia Coffin won the Benevolent Triples trophy for the third year running when they beat the ladies of Chatteris Bowls Club at St Ives on Sunday, August 4.

The three Huntingdon ladies beat the Chatteris trio of Ann Hobday, Valerie Pulley and Cynthia Spooner 16-5 and were presented with the trophy by the club’s deputy president Ann Ashmore.

On Saturday, Cynthia Spooner of Chatteris won the Benevelent Singles Trophy when she beat Margaret Hodgkin of Ramsey 13-2. The competition was played in brilliant sunshine at Needingworth Bowls Club..
