HUNTINGDON Racecourse hosts its 'All Creatures Great and Small' charity horse racing day on Sunday, March 4.
The occasion is in aid of Godmanchester-based Wood Green Animal Shelters - with the charity receiving £2 for every admission ticket booked in advance.
It's also the first of only two Sunday fixtures at Huntingdon Racecourse during the year, so it's a great chance for a family day out - not only for the sport on the racecourse but also the animal attractions off it.
Racecourse managing director Amy Starkey said: "Wood Green does such great work on behalf of all kinds of animals - from horses to cats - that we're delighted to be working with them to publicise their efforts.
"We are having scores of attractions for all the family. Children will love the Wood Green animal area in particular."
There will be dog agility demonstrations, trade stands and a tombola.
Staff from Wood Green Animal Shelters will be on hand all afternoon to offer people advice about giving one of their deserving animals a second chance in life.
As well as the animal attractions, there will be free children's entertainment in the form of inflatable rides, face painting, Punch and Judy, and a kids' quiz. The racecourse's mascot Hugo The Hound will also be greeting visitors and posing for pictures.
The feature horse race of the afternoon will be the £10,000 Speedy Hire Handicap Chase over a distance of just more than two miles.
During the afternoon, starting at 2.10pm, there are four races over hurdles, two over fences, while the finale is a race on the flat for conditional and amateur riders.
