Huntingdon Racecourse looks set to be blessed by a host of big fields for the Winter Ladies’ Day fixture this Saturday.

After welcome rainfall in recent days, 123 horses have been entered for the seven races on a card which gets underway at 12.05pm.

The going is described as ‘good to soft (good in places) by Clerk of the Course Jack Pryor for a day in which the most valuable race is a £10,000 Lady Riders’ Handicap Hurdle over two miles.

Trainer Sue Gardner won corresponding race 12 months ago with Sirop De Menthe and she is set to be represented again this year by Rafafie.

Huntingdon Racecourse general manager Liam Johnson said: “The final months of the year are the busiest time as we build up to our big Betfred Peterborough Chase and Boxing Day meetings in December.
