The fourth staging of the Cambridgeshire National a gruelling race staged over three-and-three-quarter miles goes off at 4pm. The race, backed by frequent Huntingdon sponsors 188Bet, carries a £20,000 prize fund and an exciting card has boosted to eight races to include the Lady Proctectress Mares Chase at 3.30pm. The £30,000 Listed contest was lost when Storm Doris forced the abandonment of a scheduled fixture last Thursday. Winds of close to 50mph meant it was too dangerous for racing to go ahead. Huntingdon Racecourse general manager Liam Johnson said: Its our first Sunday fixture of 2017 and visitors to the track are going to get the best of both worlds. Weve got the usual tremendous jump racing along with lots of family entertainment. Were delighted to be holding the 188Bet Cambridgeshire National again and hopefully it will whet the appetite of spectators for the big Grant National at Aintree in April. The fact were able to reschedule the Lady Protectress Mares Chase is an added bonus. Chase and Marshall, two characters from childrens television show Paw Patrol will be present. Other free family attractions include a bouncy castle, an inflatable slide, soft play and a face painter. Gates open at noon with racing getting underway at 2pm. Tickets for the fixture are priced at £12 for adults in advance, with the cost rising to £16 on the day. Theyre on sale at http:\/\/huntingdon.thejockeyclub.co.uk and 0844 579 3007.
