A frozen track has forced the abandonment of today’s fixture at Huntingdon Racecourse.
The efforts of groundstaff, who covered take-off and landing areas, and other vulnerable parts of the track, proved to be in vain as temperatures dipped to -6C overnight.
Huntingdon had been set to stage an eight-race card, featuring the Grade 2 OLBG.com Mares Hurdle, which had also been lost to a frozen track at Ascot last Saturday.
The next meeting at Huntingdon is on Thursday, February 9.
