Jasmine Hope has become the fastest girl ever to represent Hunts AC in the Under 15 age group.

Hope powered to 100m glory at the Eastern Counties Championships in a time of 12.81 to set a new club record. She previously shared the best mark with Helen Fuller, who ran 12.9 in 1986.

Hope’s triumph was one of six for the local club which contributed to an overall medal haul of 17 – a vast improvement on the four managed in 2014.

Two of the golds belonged to Declan Rice whose 35.49m hammer throw and 9.29m shot putt earned him double-success in the Under 17 Men section. He also took silver in the discus.

Siobhan Skinner continued her stunning summer with 800m success in the Senior Women category – her 2:18.28 time was a third personal best in the space of just eight days.

Joey Croft shattered his PB in the 3000m by 18 seconds to take gold in the Under 17 Men’s section while Richard Phelan shared top spot in the Senior Men’s pole vault with a 3.00m clearance.

Lizzy Harrison is up to fourth in the national Under 11 Girls rankings for the 75m. She clocked 10.9 for the distance when winning her race at the recent Corby Open Meet – smashing almost half-a-second off her own Hunts AC club record in the process.
