St Ives 1sts clinched promotion last Saturday to headline a super clean sweep for the club’s male ranks.

All five Saints sides were victorious in their East Men's League outings on a day which will live long in the memory.

Mike Jenner, Alex Grange, James Lloyd, Pete Liddle and Ewan Morgan hit the goals that earned the 1sts a 5-0 success against bottom side Wisbech 2nds in Division Three North-West.

It left the St Ives side certain of an immediate return to Division Two North after relegation last season. They will now battle it out with second-placed Horncastle for the title.

The 2nds kept their promotion hopes alive at Division Four North-West level thanks to a 4-2 win against Bourne Deeping 3rds. Tim Jones struck twice with Mike England and Mike Boyle also on target.

Rob Brand bagged a brace as the 3rds thumped March 2nds 4-0 in Division Five North-West. The other goals came from Joe Warr and Carl Compton.

And there was success for both teams at Division Six North-West (South) level. Jacob Parker and Alex Ginns fired the 4ths to a 2-0 win against Ely City 3rds, while the 5ths saw off Saffron Walden 8ths 4-2 thanks to efforts from Langton Takawira, Oli Clinton, Joe Reynolds and Thomas King-Venables.

And the St Ives female ranks almost matched the feat of their male stablemates.

Two of their sides were successful in the East Women's League with the only blot on an otherwise exemplary copybook was a goalless draw for the Ladies 2nds, who were without a host of regular players for their deadlock at Horncastle.

The 1sts went a long way towards sealing Division One North safety with a 3-2 success against strugglers Norwich Dragons. Helen Clarke twice hit equalisers before Jules Griffiths fired a late winner.

The 3rds continued their promotion challenge in Division Four North-West (South) with a 3-0 win against Newmarket 3rds. Hannah Rose, Hannah King and Pauline Hammond did the damage.
