Two terrific individual scoring feats helped St Neots teams to victory last Saturday.

Kira Herbert helped herself to eight of the goals as the Ladies 3rds strengthened their grip on top spot in Division Four of the Five Counties League.

Herbert’s heroics helped her side trounce Milton Keynes 4ths 13-0 to extend their unbeaten start to 10 matches.

That demolition job also features a hat-trick from China Saywell. Summer Payne and Jessica Homans completed the scoring.

The 4ths boosted their promotion challenge in Division Four North-West (South) of the East Women’s League with a 3-1 triumph at Cambridge South 4ths.

The 1sts and 2nds both saw their games postponed due to frozen pitches.

Daniel Rowland was the star turn in the St Neots male ranks last Saturday.

His four-goal haul helped the 3rds record a 5-1 victory against Horncastle 2nds in Division Five-North West of the East Men’s League.

And there was also a valuable victory for St Neots 2nds as they boosted their survival hopes in Division Four North-West.

A solitary Oliver Dawes goal earned the points at Cambridge Nomads 2nds and provided just a second win of the campaign for his side.

Sean Sanderson struck for the 5ths as they drew 1-1 with Cambridge South 5ths in Division Six North-West (South), but the club’s two other sides were both beaten.

A fine fightback proved to be in vain as St Neots 1sts slipped to a 3-2 defeat against promotion-chasing Ely City in Division Three North-West.

The locals found themselves two down in the opening half, but Darren Coles hit his first goal of the season to halve St Neots’ arrears before the break and they restored parity when Iain Moor delivered a fine solo effort in the second period.

But it was Ely who struck again to snatch a victory secured by some excellent work from the visiting goalkeeper in the closing stages.

The club’s 4ths went down 8-0 to Spalding 4ths in Division Five North-West.
