St Ives sides enjoyed a stack of high-scoring East Men’s League successes last Saturday.
The biggest haul of goals arrived courtesy of the club’s 3rds, who roared into double-figures when collecting a first Division Five North-West win of the season.
Nathaniel Edwards spearheaded a 10-1 drubbing of City of Peterborough 7ths with a four-goal blast. Benjamin Joss added a hat-trick, Oliver Clinton bagged a brace and Alex Paddock also found the net.
But the finest individual scoring feat was provided by 2nds sharp-shooter Peter Liddle as they went clear at the top of Division Four North-West.
Liddle helped himself to five of the goals in a 6-1 rout of City of Peterborough 6ths. Michael England also struck as the 2nds extended their 100 per-cent tart to the season.
City of Peterborough opponents were also beaten as St Ives 1sts continued a fine start to life in Division Two North.
They accounted for that club’s 3rds with a 2-1 victory sealed by a James Harris strike, which provided the perfect finishing touch to a smart move. Alec Bryden had earlier seen his opening goal cancelled out by the hosts.
