HEMINGFORD Abbots Golf Club seniors raised over 350 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal through their Captain's Charity Day.
Twenty-four players took part in the day, led by seniors' captain Mike Goddard and vice-captain Dennis Brown and Roy Brown.
In a close finish it was Neil Marshall (net 65) who won the day from Cyril Evans, who came in with the same score but was beaten on count back. Competition fees, donations and a raffle, organised by Edna Brown, all contributed to the money raised.
