At Lee Valley, Bruce, right, established an under-13s girls record in the pentathlon with 1,070 points and in the 800m with a time of 3 minutes 32.2 seconds. She also beat her own high jump record by 1cm with a 1.21m clearance, the seven-year-old long jump record by 26cms, and the shot putt record by 12cms. As part of the pentathlon, Harriet also completed the 60m hurdles in 12.7 seconds. Meanwhile, Hunts AC runners Andy Richardson and Michelle Finnegan were lucky to have their names drawn out of the hat to take part in the one-off Olympic Parkrun five-mile race. More than 43,000 entered a ballot for places in this event with 6,000 runners being selected to join celebrities and former Great Britain athletes in the race around the Olympic site, which ended with a 300-metre sprint in the Olympic stadium to cross the finish line in front of a crowd of over 10,000. Just over 5,700 runners finished the race with Richardson recording 32 minutes 30 seconds for joint 213th place with Finnegan finishing 4,749th in 53.17.
