AT her first indoor track and field meeting of the winter season, the MetaSwitch Games at Lee Valley in London, 11-year-old Harriet Bruce broke three Huntingdonshire AC club records.

Competing in the U13 Girls category, Bruce improved her high jump record by nine centimetres with 1.30 metres, and her long jump record by 24 centimetres with 3.52 metres. The 60 metre hurdles she ran 11.71 seconds beat the record of 11.8 set by Maddie Rhodes in 2005.

After missing most of the 2012 summer track season through injury, veteran Peter Downhill ran the 800 metres in an encouraging 2.08.81.

In her debut run in the monthly Hunts AC 5-Mile Handicap, Jayne Springham won by 55 seconds, by finishing in fifth, while Jude Jones reduced her best from 40.47 to 39.57 to jump from 33rd to 28th in the all-time rankings.

The final placings for the 2012 series were, first, Pauline Stocker with 43 points, with Hilary McConville in second with 49, and Peter German in third with 53.
