H&P hosted Northants at the Fengate Ground in Peterborough, coming away with a convincing win.

The H&P forwards dominated from the opening whistle, securing the ball and releasing Chris Sansby down the right wing to score in the corner.

From the restart, H&P turned the ball over to send Karl Smith on an 80 metre try-scoring run. Will Carrington converted.

A line-out steal then released Smith again, and he off-loaded to Dewi Pearce who scored H&P's third try. Carrington again converted.

Northants replied with a try after pressuring the home line for five minutes.

Smith took another try soon after following a turn over to end the half a long way in front.

Changes were made at half-time but Russell Nixon soon scored to reassert H&P's dominance.

Northants then scored a try from a penalty but the H&P rallied once more, sending Smith over for his hat-trick.

Carrington converted to end the game and finish off a fine H&P performance.
