Huntingdon Gymnastics Club is celebrating after two of its elite men's team were selected for the Commonwealth Games five-man squad.

In a nailbiting final trial, Junior European Pommel Horse Champion, Louis Smith, worked superbly to finish third overall, guaranteeing a berth in the Australia-bound squad.

Club mate and current British U-18 Champion, Luke Folwell, finished fifth and joins Louis for the Games in Melbourne this March.

Head coach, Paul Hall, was delighted with the result: "The gymnasts have worked so hard to achieve their selection and deserve a place on the team. I am especially proud that, with Daniel Keatings and Emma White already selected to represent Scotland at the Games, our club boasts four representatives at this high level of competition.

"We also have Matthew Cosgrave, from Northern Ireland, and Alex Hedges, from the Isle of Man, both training at the club and preparing for the same event with our own Robert Payne down as a named reserve - a tremendous achievement," added Hall.
