Growing gap doesn’t faze Godmanchester Rovers boss

Godmanchester Rovers chief Matt Clements has challenged his players to reel in Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division leaders Norwich United.
The combination of being involved in cup clashes and a postponement last Saturday has led to third-placed Rovers being cast 14 points adrift of the table-topping reigning champions.
They do boast three games in hand though and also have to face Norwich twice, but they can ill afford to drop further behind.
Clements, whose side face a tough trip to Stanway Rovers today, said: “Norwich United have got away from us, but we have the games in hand to eat into their advantage.
“I would gladly swap positions with them as it is always better to have points on the board, but we need to rise to the challenge of building momentum, picking up points and getting ourselves back on terms with them.
“We have dropped some silly points this season and that is something we must cut out.”
Rovers returned to form with a 4-0 win at Newmarket in the League Challenge Cup last Tuesday.
