Despite being down to five first team regulars and falling 3-0 behind inside 15 minutes, Saints put in a determined display at Bury and nearly salvaged a point. Abby Holland scored twice to reduce the deficit after the break but Bury restored their two-goal lead with a penalty stroke. Mel Wood gave the visitors hope, but it was not to be.
