The thoughts of St Neots Town manager Dennis Greene

IT’S getting to that stage of the season now where every game could be a potential banana skin.

You could lose some points and, with it only being 1-0 at half time, it’s always a worry because something crazy could happen.

There was never any real threat of us losing the game but at 1-0 anything can happen - a dodgy decision - and, before you know it, there’s 20 minutes to go and it is 1-1 then panic sets in.

But, we had a good chat at half time - sorted it out - made sure we went about our jobs properly in the second half and we ended up winning it quite comfortably 5-1.

And that followed on from the result at Stewarts & Lloyds last Tuesday, which was one hell of a result for us.

That’s because a defeat could have potentially lost us the league there that night, so it was a massive result.

Junior (Kanuda) was ill on Saturday but other than that, there’s nothing else to report and no injuries. We’re in good shape and are fresh.

Having no midweek games this week or next gives us a good chance now to train properly, which we haven’t been able to do much of, having been playing twice a week.

We’ll be able to get a good couple of sessions under our belt on the training pitch, rest up and get ready for Cogenhoe on Saturday.

And then another couple heading into the King’s Lynn game the following Saturday.

The pleasing thing is that we’re in good form, scoring goals and keeping clean sheets, where as King’s Lynn look like they’re not in form, which might swing it into our favour just at the right time.

We made a couple of good signings that have helped us - in Gavin Strachan and Dominic Green - where as they haven’t made any - so we’re really looking strong.
