Greene: Now is the time to kick on
THE Eynesbury game came at a good time for us in the sense that it wasn’t a pressure game in the league.

Whether we stay in or go out of the Hunts Senior Cup - with the games that we’ve got coming up - is irrelevant.
Of course you want to win every game you play and it gave our lads another 90 minutes and gave me a chance to use the squad.
We knew we’d probably get through the game regardless of who we played, so it’s good to utilise all of the players in the squad. I thought Lewis Hilliard was exceptional in the middle of the park, as was Kieran Davies out on the right wing.

Eaton Socon will be waiting for us in the semi-final and I’m pleased for them and their manager Neville Cooper.
It’s going to be away from home, which is a bit of a shame, but I’m sure we’ll get through it. It will be a good day and hopefully a good crowd and everyone will enjoy it.

Lewis Christon joined us last week which gives us another defensive option.
And, like anyone who I bring into the squad, he has got a chance to be playing week in week out, but it’s down to him.
He hasn’t really done a lot for the last couple of months and it might be a case of taking two or three weeks to get him up to speed.
So, when I think he’s right, he’ll have a chance in the first team. If he’s better than what we’ve got he’ll play, if he isn’t then he’ll have to wait his chance.
The games should now start coming thick and fast again. Before the cold weather came in, we’d been playing twice a week and we got by no problem.
Come the end of January and once all the postponed games are rearranged, hopefully we’ll be playing twice a week again and we can then really kick on.
