On Sunday, December 28, it was Hotrods Lindsay Naylor from peg five who took the honours. His 13lb 3oz of roach and bits was just an ounce and a half ahead of Roy Whincup who was fishing alongside him. Kevin Peacock and Kevin Medlock lifted the third and fourth slots respectively. The 14 anglers present totalled over 110lb a good result for such a cold day.

On Sunday twenty anglers turned up with over half an inch of ice to break and they were rewarded with outstanding fishing. Eight anglers weighed 10 pounds or more with the field averaging double figures and the lowest section winning weight 9lb 12oz. Pegs one and two were the places to be as organiser Roy Whincup (1) caught 17lb 4oz of roach and rudd with Kye Jerram (2) taking second spot.

The series was won by Wades Dave Thornton with five points from a four way tie for second between Roy Whincup, Dale Stones, Trevor Oakman and Kevin Medlock. Whincup eventually took second spot after a section win and weight count back.

ICE was three quarters of an inch thick in the deepest part of the marina but perch including one of 2lb 13oz fed for Chris Geeson to give him the match win.

PIKE were the target for the twelve adults and one junior angler that braved the conditions at the Narrows on Sunday. The area to the right of the bridge was clear of ice although some anglers to the left had to break into the water before fishing. Keith Rayment took the honours with five pike for 22lb 9oz while second placed Sean Fulcher included the biggest of the day, a 15lb 1oz monster, in his 19lb 8oz.

RESULT: 1 Keith Rayment 22lb 9oz, 2 Sean Fulcher 19lb 8oz, 3 Paul Brockenhurst 10lb 9oz
