GOLF MICHAEL Rounds total of 143 was enough to win him the St Neots Club Championship. Consistency was the key for Round, who carded 72 and 71 to leave Conner Haynes four shots behind in second. However, there was consolation for Haynes as he won the Renaissance Trophy by the same margin from Richard Dixon, with rounds of 70 and 63. In the Handicap Trophy, Nunzio Ferrara was six shots clear of Andrew Marsh. At the Captains Charity Am-Am, Terry Matthews, Toby Boston, Richard Hayden and Bill Parker won with a total of 95 points. Andy Gore won the midweek medal by a shot from Michael Round, who was a shot clear of Josh Gore in third. In the ladies section at St Neots, Julie Button won the Division One July Medal from Glenna Cooper and Mary Thompson, while Honor Porter took Division Two from Jane Paine and Berta Walters. Maria Marsh won the Babs Brown Trophy with 43pts, five clear of Joyce Brown. Rhonwen McCrystals round of 67 saw her lift the Montagu Cup, two shots ahead of Di Jenkins. KEITH Curr and Christine Bowden won the Wise Trophy at Cromwell Golf Club, with totals of 41pts and 35pts. Vernon Giblett and Debbie Jones were the runners-up. Jones and David Healey won the longest drive competitions. In the team competition, England beat Scotland for the win, ahead of Wales and Ireland. JACKIE Greenwood won the Trust Stableford Competition at St Ives Golf Club with 43pts, beating Heather Wood and Amy Rae into second and third. At the Lady Captains Day, Avis Drew was the overall winner with 38 points. Julie Walters 35 points were enough to win the Silver Division, with Stephanie LeCaille winning Bronze A, and Chris Partridge taking the Bronze B honours.
