James Reeson is celebrating his first tournament success as a professional golfer.

The Brampton Park star came through a sudden-death play-off to land the Essendon Classic event on the Jamega Pro Tour.

More than 100 players lined up for the two-day, 36-hole event at Essendon Golf & Country Club, in Hertfordshire, but Reeson emerged on top of the leaderboard.

The 23 year-old carded a four-under-par 69 in the opening round and followed up with a 71 to to set-up a play-off with James Scade.

Both men started with successive pars, but another par for Reeson on the third extra hole was enough to clinch the crown.

“It feels great to pick up my first title on the Jamega Pro Tour,” said Reeson, who has dominated the Cambridgeshire amateur scene in the past couple of years.

“I made a good five on the third play-off hole and, fortunately for me, James’ putt just slipped past the hole.”
