More than 130 golfers competed in the St Ives (Hunts) Golf Club Captains’ Charity Day last Sunday – helping to raise £5,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Members took advantage of fast greens, well manicured fairways and a chance to double their points on their chosen ‘joker’ hole to post some good scores in the four-ball Stableford competition, organised by captain Stuart Grey and lady captain Trish Whittamore.

In the men’s section first prize went Pete Goodey, Alex Clark, Brian Williams and Martyn Murden with a net tally of 116 points.

Roger Bishop, Gary Havens, Robert Pulford and Andrew Herbert were second with 110, while Peter Titmuss, Ray Trott, Colin Pearce and John Broderick took third on 109 points.

Helen Rae, Paula Ewing, Kerry Grubb-Moore and Michelle Grubb-Moore took the ladies’ prize with a net 100 score. Andy Green, Mark Dutton, Nicky Cope and Nicky Hastings were the mixed section winners with 102 points.
