They were hugely impressive when competing in the City of Peterborough Winter Open Meet last weekend, also picking up 10 silvers and seven bronze medals. Olly Fitt was the top male swimmer in action as he began his long build-up to the British Olympic Trials in April by winning all of his nine events. His 200m backstroke performance was most impressive as he shaved a couple of seconds off his personal best. James Quinn set a new Cambridgeshire record in the 200m breaststroke to complete a full set of county bests for that stroke in the 11yrs age bracket. Lucas Dove, Brandon McDonald, Cathryn Thomson, Peter Todd, Emily Gallagher, Jasmine Dearnly, Sam Cox, Toby Everett, Isobel Pond, Emma Fitt, Cleo Bailey, Sophie Turner, Alice Turner, Luke Tunstall, Lauren Tunstall, Harry Everett, Caterina Whitworth, Bethan Endicott, Ed Cochrane, Georgia Newstead, Connie Newstead, Tom Lucas, Evan Taylor, Fran Crocker, Ella Couchman, Ellie Collinge, Lotte Flynn, Ingrid Flynn, Ed Hick, Katie Warren, Sam Wright and Rebecca Keene all contributed well as St Ives finished as the second-best visiting club.
