GODMANCHESTER knocked Weston from the top of the table with a narrow win on Saturday.
Weston struggled early on, first against 16-year-old left-armer James Cowan and then Kevin Clement. Daniel Oldham also caused Weston problems with his leg spin.
Cowan took three for 18, Clement two for 25 and Oldham two for 28 as Weston posted a total of 124 for eight.
The total initially looked to be a comfortable target for Godmanchester, with James Howells and Adrian Lemmon putting on 36 for the opening stand.
With Howells gone for 26, however, Weston bowler Jack Squire took a hat-trick of lbws on his way to taking five for 44.
With the score at 56 for six, Godmanchester looked to be struggling until Cowan and Oldham retrieved the situation.
Cowan's 13 and Oldham's 25 put the home side back on track before Clement made an unbeaten 18.
Simon Rose then hit a boundary off the second ball of the final over to give Godmanchester a tight but deserved victory.
