ROVERS joint-boss Karly Hurst said he was not unhappy with his side's performance in a tough cup fixture at Mildenhall.

Hurst, who made four changes because of non-availability, watched his side get off to a nightmare start when after only three minutes Dave Werthman gave the hosts the lead when at the second attempt he knocked the ball over the line from close range.

The shock stung Hurst's men into action and Shaun Marshall was kept busy in the home goal. Marshall made a series of saves from Paul Bass, James Edwards and Stephen David Hurst to preserve Town's lead as Rovers sought an equaliser.

The second half began quietly before Lee Boon missed a half chance to square the match but the visitors were hit by two goals before the hour mark.

Firstly Spriggs' short corner found Tony Scully unmarked and the former Cambridge United winger cut inside before smashing the ball inside Ally McNanally near post before the goalkeeper allowed Matty Rylands' deflected effort to squeeze into the bottom corner.

Full back Robert Farrington spurned the visitors' best chance of getting back into the game, heading over from a Bass corner.

n Rovers play their first game at their refurbished Bearscroft Lane ground on Saturday. The visitors are Brantham Athletic. Kick-off is 3pm.
