First Strokes Godmanchester delivered a dominant display to capture silverware recently.

They won the Senior Fenland League ‘B’ Final by blowing away competition from three other clubs.

First Strokes won 26 of the 47 races in the gala at Newmarket to triumph by 28 points from runners-up Bottisham. Another local outfit, St Neots Swans, were back in third with Mildenhall bringing up the rear.

Every member of the First Strokes squad - Oliver Bolam, Oliver Pendered, Henry Reeve, Isabel Couch, Isobel Mather, Hannah Pye, Riley Hall, Rory Webb, Max Webb, Ella Bolam, Millie Wells, Ella Pauffley, Josh Beecroft, Tom Barnard, David Keene, Aidan Clark, Lily High, Jessica Spavins, Chloe Butler, Nia Baird, Elke Povey, Lauren Elliott, Ben Hall, Tristan Beecroft, Colin Brunsting – contributed with first or second places.

The club also won eight of the nine relay events.
