GODMANCHESTER Rovers assistant boss Neil Morgan was at a loss to explain how his side failed to pick up maximum points at home to rock-bottom Cornard United on Saturday.
The visitors arrived on the back of 10 defeats from their opening 11 league games but took a shock lead inside the opening 10 minutes against Goddy.
Frustrated Rovers had to wait until the 80th minute, when they got level thanks to an own goal.
Morgan moaned that the visitors simply parked the bus after snatching their early lead.
He said: “We had enough chances to win two games, let alone one, but were very wasteful in front of goal.
“It was a poor goal for us to concede early on and from that moment on we had 85 minutes of play and numerous chances. I was confident that, had we got one, we’d have gone on and scored five.
“Once Cornard scored their goal they put 10 men behind the ball. To not take three points from the game was very disappointing.”
Although unable to secure a third consecutive win, ninth-placed Rovers are unbeaten in four and now take a break from league action until November 27.
They were set to take on Division One leaders Cambridge University Press in the first round of the Knock-out Cup last night and are without a fixture this weekend.
