THREE quick goals before half-time gave Rovers their second win of the season at Hall Road.

The scoreline flattered Rovers somewhat and 'keeper Danny Workman impressed on his first start of the season in goal. He was first called into action after 14 minutes when he saved bravely at the feet of Sam Duxbury before holding on to a Steve Chilton drive.

Rovers saw Dan Woodhead and Ross West fire wide before they took the lead on 34 minutes when West was fouled in the box and Peter Collins netted from the spot.

Collins scored his second of the game on 41 minutes, receiving the ball from debutant Simon Stevens and slotting the ball past the goalkeeper via the far post. Just two minutes later Neil Morris added a third with a fine 20 yard effort.

With Rovers three goals ahead the second half was mostly a non-event and the home side saw out time to claim the victory.

Manager Dean Shipp said: "The result flattered us a bit and we were thankful for some great saves from Danny Workman to keep our clean sheet.

"We're not quite playing as a team yet but there were some good individual performances on the day and it's great to get a clean sheet."

Eynesbury took on Irchester in the League Cup last night and travel to Olney Town for a league fixture on Saturday.
