YOUNG football stars from across the district were rewarded for their season's efforts at an awards ceremony at Cambridge Corn Exchange, on Sunday.

St Ives Rangers U13A were named Cambridgeshire Colts League Team of the Year after achieving an outstanding treble.

The team won the Cambridgeshire Colts A League title, the League Cup and Tesco Hunts FA Cup.

Rangers, who also won the team of the year award in 2004-2005, will be getting a new kit from sponsors Bennett Sanders next season.

Brampton Spartans U11s were awarded a trophy for winning the A League and Alconbury U14s picked up the trophy for winning the C League.

Bluntisham U13B received a trophy for winning the U13E League - the first league title in their history.

The side won 20 of their 22 league games, losing just once. They had won only two games in three seasons before their successful campaign.
