A slice of footballing history was created by St Ives Rangers Under 16 Girls last week.
Darren Marjoram’s team became the inaugural winners of the new Hunts Under 15/16 Girls Cup after roaring to a double-figures showpiece success.
They produced a polished performance to beat Ramsey Under 15s 11-0 in the final staged at Yaxley.
Katherine Speed, Ella Burnley, Fran Chapman and Ellie Brown struck in the first half. Further goals from Speed, Brown, Chapman, Nell Webber, Elle Jefferson (2) and Sophie Marjoram followed in the second period.
Rangers are firmly on course to claim an honours treble.
They sit top of the Under 16 Division of the Cambs Girls League after an unbeaten season in which they have dropped only two points in 13 games. Rangers beat closest challengers Haverhill Rovers 4-0 at the weekend.
They are also through to the League Cup final where they will face Swavesey on May 11.
