The Under 14 and Under 15 squads both came through English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) PlayStation Schools’ Cup quarter-finals, while the Under 16s advanced to the last four of the Premier League Schools’ Cup for Girls.

First up was a trip to Eastwood Academy, in Essex, for the Under 15s, who are closing in on back-to-back triumphs after winning the trophy at Under 14 level last season.

A free-kick from striker Lucy O’Brien put St Ivo ahead before a well-worked goal from Zoe Barratt secured a 2-0 win.

O’Brien also impressed with two of the goals as the current crop of St Ivo Under 14s saw off Weatherhead High School 3-0 in their quarter-final. Tia Everdell also found the net as opponents from the Wirral were seen off.

The Under 16s were last but by no means least as they eased past Elthorne Park High School, from Ealing. Barratt hit two of the goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Katherine Speed in another 3-0 victory.

Lisa Trigg, the driving force behind girls football at St Ivo, said: “Three quarter-final victories without conceding a single goal shows that girls football continues to go from strength to strength at St Ivo.

“To have three teams through to national semi-finals is amazing. Our footballers continue to show huge drive and determination, persistence and passion.

“As always, I must also thank Darren Marjoram who has been at every fixture and coaches alongside me.”

All three St Ivo sides face away trips at the semi-final stage.

The Under 14s have the longest journey as they go to Durham Johnston School, in Bishop Auckland, at the semi-final stage.

The Under 15s travel to Sutton to face the Stanley Park High School, while the Under 16s head to Heathside School in Woking.
