HOLDERS Huntingdon Town U18s surrendered their Gayton Cup crown following a narrow 1-0 reverse against their St Neots Town conterparts at Bearscroft Lane on Friday night.

The decisive goal arrived after 38 minutes, after Ryan Whittingham was brought down inside the box by Ollie Peters and Ryan Sharman tucked away the twice-taken spot kick.

The trophy was presented by Michael Holden – a family friend of the Gaytons – who had donated the trophy in memory of Geoffrey, who was once chairman of the Hunts FA.

? HEMINGFORDS UNITED won the Scott Gatty Hunts Intermediate Cup the previous week with a 1-0 win over St Neots Town Reserves in a final also staged at Godmanchester.

Robert Green scored a second half penalty for the Kershaw Senior A League outfit and meant United picked up the trophy for the fourth time in their 92-year history.
