St Neots Town striker Shane Tolley is emigrating to Dubai and has left the club following the ‘out of the blue’ decision.

The striker, who re-signed for the club last season following a successful earlier spell, was key to the management duos’ plans at St Neots – especially after Gary King and Zema Abbey signed hotshots Chris Dillon and Drew Roberts. But, after signing a new deal, Tolley informed the club last week that he would be joining his girlfriend who is moving to Dubai for work and that he would not be available.

“It came out of the blue,” said King, “But we wish him every success with his move. Shane is a quality player and will be welcome back at St Neots should he return to the country.”

However, forward Matty Nolan has put pen to paper on another deal with the club after taking a holiday. “Matty is a very important signing for us,” said King, who added: “With Matty and Chris Dillon we now have two No 9s fighting for a place in the team.”
