WARBOYS were invited to bat first against Nassington II, but suffered the loss of early wickets on their way to 192 all out.

They were indebted to their middle order pair of Matt Duncan (68) and Dominic Hills (36) to rack up the runs.

Ed Blissett (14) had attempted to give the team some early impetus but Nassington's Andy Dair (4-32) was proving a real handful to all the batsmen.

Wayne Humphreys (15) added invaluable runs and lower order batsmen Adam Hyde (12) and James Trafford (11*) pushed the Witches score to 192 all out.

James Pope (56) held a failing Nassington innings together as four of their top six batsmen could only muster six runs between them.

There were two wickets apiece for Hyde, Trafford and Richard O'Leary as the Witches bowlers put the Nassington batsmen under their spell but it needed Steve Hill (3-16) to pop up to nip the tail out.

Warboys III played second fiddle away to a strong Longstowe III team as the home side powered to 211-5. Longstowe then ran through the Warboys side to dismiss them for 103.

It was much better for Warboys II against Alconbury II in Hunts 4. The latter were quickly dismissed for just 102 and it took only 21 overs for the home side to reach 103-3 as they rattled along at real pace.
