St Ives II entertained Pymoor on Saturday, but a disappointing batting performance allowed the visitors to return with the victory. Captain Steve Cant won the toss and put Pymoor into bat on a wicket he felt would be fruitful for his bowlers. Ives bowler Shaun Asplin rewarded his captain's faith by taking five wickets, but Pymoor managed to run up 200-9. St Ives saw their chances of victory gradually fade as their top order batsmen failed to make an impression. Both openers fell cheaply, with the next two batsmen only scraping into double figures. It was left to Cant to deliver a captain's innings, making 53 at number five, with support from Dan Hunt (20) and Asplin (14), before Ives fell to 166 all out. Captain Cant said after the game he was disappointed with the team's batting performance.
