Starting brightly, Ives took the lead through a well-taken goal from George Richards following a strong run. Dolemore finished off the second following a fast counter attack following good defensive work by Andy Lane and James Lloyd. Ives continued at this tempo in the second half, with Dolemore scoring a second with a strong shot that went in off the post. Si Johnson made two excellent saves to keep Harpenden scoreless before Dolemore scored his third and Ives fourth with another powerful shot. The flow of the game broke down with yellow cards issued to both teams and Harpenden grabbed a consolation through a scruffy short corner routine. The ladies did not fare as well, going down 5-2 at Wisbech. The hosts broke the deadlock but their lead did not last long; Claire Bannerman followed up her own penalty corner strike to hammer home the rebound. Wisbechs relentless movement tired the travelling Saints who conceded their second late into the first half. St Ives started the second half brightly but never quite got into their normal game. Helen Clarke added to her season total but that was the extent of the pressure put on the Wisbech, who added three more goals to take the final score to 5-2. Mens 2s drew 2-2 against Wisbech, the 3s won 3-1, the 4s lost 8-1 and the 5s lost 6-0.
