DELIGHTED Town manager Paul Swannell praised his side's forwards after this win.

The pairing of frontman Ryan Francis and Guinea-born Alyou Coaney came up trumps again at the weekend as Huntingdon climbed to fifth.

Francis opened the scoring on 14 minutes when he created some space after receiving a ball from Coaney.

Adam Bevilacqua squandered a good opportunity midway through the half and Coaney had a goal disallowed for offside on the half hour.

Huntingdon goalkeeper Dave Beanie made a fine save just after the hour mark before a superb goal on 75 minutes settled the contest.

Coaney brilliantly brought the ball down in the centre circle and lashed a superb ball to Francis, who had advanced to the edge of the box.

The livewire striker nodded the ball down and coolly drilled home to claim his second of the match.

The game was effectively over at that point, but there was just time for Francis to repay the favour when he nodded through for Coaney to round the goalkeeper and walk the ball into the net.

Huntingdon manager Swannell said: "Our second goal was one of the best goals I've seen for a long time.

"It's pleasing to keep a clean sheet - only our second of the season - and nice to be in some form with big games coming up against the teams around us."

Town travel to fourth-placed AFC Kempston Rovers on Saturday.
