Former Eynesbury Rovers footballer Jordan Nicholson has seen his progress in the professional game held up by a broken leg.

The 22 year-old, from Godmanchester, suffered the injury when playing for Peterborough in a development game against Leeds recently and is set to miss the rest of this season.

“It’s obviously a serious injury, but it is a simple break,” said Peterborough manager Graham Westley. “Jordan will be in a protective boot for around four weeks before we look to get him back involved in training.

Nicholson joined League One side Posh on Christmas Eve from Southern League Premier Division side Histon and has since made two substitute appearances for them.

He impressed locally for Eynesbury last season when hitting 26 goals in the United Counties League Premier Division.
