Huntingdonshire heroine Charlotte Edwards will be on hand to ensure Bluntisham’s new nets are given a grand opening later this month.
The legendary former England Women skipper will feature in a Charlotte Edwards & Mick George Combined XI to play the host club at their Bluntisham Park base in a pink ball 20/20 clash on Friday, June 29.
The game starts at 6.30pm but will be preceded by a junior coaching session led by Edwards in the net facility which was installed earlier this year after being made possible by funding from Mick George.
A barbecue will be running throughout the evening with refreshments also available. There will also be a prize raffle.
Edwards, who grew up in Pidley and first played the game at Ramsey, was recently made president of Huntingdonshire County Cricket Club after enjoying a glittering 20-year career which came to an end when she retired last year.
