UCL Premier Division St Neots Town 1 Daventry Town 3 EARLY domination in the match by St Neots was to prove ineffective against a Daventry Town side who came into the match after four successive defeats. Daventry's caretaker boss Lee McBain will be more than pleased with the way his team weathered the pressure and came back to snatch the points in a 3-1 win on Saturday. Andy Gordon gave Daventry the lead, against the run of play, firing home a stunning shot off the underside of the crossbar from 30 yards after 22 minutes. The visitors grew in confidence and went further in front through top scorer Tom Berwick after 39 minutes. He cut in from the left and fired past Lee Crockett from outside the box. Before St Neots could recover, Daventry added a 40th minute third through Richard Wesley who punished hesitation by Crockett and Steve Dogbe. Just before the break Wesley got his name in the book again, but this time for the wrong reason as he was red carded for a bad challenge on Matt Bannister. Saints substitute Ishmael Ehui hit the post as the home side sought to make their extra man count, but in truth Saints struggled to take hold of the game. Chris Johnson finally scored a 74th minute consolation for St Neots after a fine run by Ehui, who was again denied by the woodwork late.
