St Neots Town saw their hopes of FA Cup success halted by an M25 puncture last night.

The Saints' coach - carrying players and supporters - broke down on route to Worthing for a second qualifying round replay.

A relief vehicle was called to collect the passengers, but with their estimated arrival time in Sussex being 8.50pm, the match was postponed.

It will now be played next Tuesday (October 6) with a Southern Premier League clash against Histon scheduled for that night to be re-arranged.

A St Neots statement said: "We would like to apologise to all at Worthing for any inconvenience this incident has caused.

"These things do happen and thankfully - and most importantly - everyone was okay."

The club's FA Cup run has certainly been packed with incident. They received a Football Association reprieve after unwittingly fielding an ineligible player in their first qualifying round tie against Tilbury.

St Ives Town did succeed in making it onto the pitch last night as they drew 0-0 with Aylesbury in a Southern League Division One (Central) clash at ProEdge Westwood Road.

Huntingdon are in action tonight as they entertain Yaxley in the United Counties League Premier Division at Jubilee Park.
